A sustainable harvest ensures that your timber tract stays valuable for years to come. At Stoltzfus, we think carefully about what we cut, balancing today’s profits with tomorrow’s priorities. This means we don’t cut all the good trees today. Our goal is to keep your forest healthy, vigorous, and diverse for generations to come.

Since a forest is an ecosystem, timber harvests affect the surrounding soil, water, and animal life. By careful planning, we minimize soil disruption, which reduces erosion and preserves water quality. Our harvesting practices also create openings for sunlight. This promotes diverse plant growth, which stabilizes the soil and supports wildlife habitat.

We know that choosing a timber company is a big decision. That’s why we pay up front—so you’ll know we will follow through. How does it work? Once you’ve accepted our harvest plan, we’ll pay you 20%. Then, just before harvest, we will pay the remainder. This means you will have your full price in hand before we cut a single tree.
